Dental Crowns
Restore Cracked or Damaged Teeth
There are several conditions that require a dental crown to protect a tooth. Root canal therapy, multiple fillings, dental bridges and broken teeth can all be reasons for a dental crown. These protective coverings fit comfortably over your natural tooth and create a durable surface for chewing. They can also be designed from materials like porcelain to match your natural teeth, blending into your smile.
To fit a crown, some of the existing tooth material is removed to make room for the dental cap. The crown is created using imagery or physical impressions of your tooth to ensure it fits naturally into your bite. Once the tooth is prepared and the crown is created in a lab, it is fitted to your tooth and adhered permanently. Dental crowns can last for decades and provide a functional, beautiful new tooth for your smile.
Dental Inlays and Onlays
When a complete dental crown is not needed, but your tooth needs extra support, inlays or onlays can be used. Inlays add a formed covering for one or more sides of a tooth, often when fillings would cause too much stress. Onlays are used to cover the top or cusp of the tooth, giving it a durable biting surface that will last.
